HELP!!
I recently upgraded my Ati rage fury to a MSI 8817 geforce 2 mx. My monitor is a Mag 71v.
The problem is:
i can get maximum refresh rate in the win desktop (100 Hz - really cool), but as soon as the resolution changes (for example, when starting a game) the refresh rate turns back to 60 Hz...
I thought the problem was a stupid bug in ATI drivers, but i get the same thing with the geforce...
I've installed 3d turbo 2000 and tried to set default refresh rates (100hz for 1024x768, 120hz for 800x600 - which are supported by my monitor), but it doesn't work. When i press "apply", the sucker erases all the refresh rates i've set...
Win uses "default monitor". i've tried to change to plug n play and it didn't work. i've also used several mag drivers (there is no driver for my monitor... guess 71v is a oem name or something like that) but they didn't work either.
Can anyone HELP??
You can't imagine how frustrating and eye-disgusting it is to play Quake3 @ 60Hz after spending an hour working in excel @ 100 Hz...
I've also used several nvidia drivers. Nothing changed.
My system:
athlon 800 @ 1007
fsb 106 ddr
256 mb generic pc-100 (@106)
Msi 8817 Starforce Geforce 2 mx 32 mb
currently using nvidia's 6.72 detonator 3
