Ok, I reboot my parents computer which has Windows2k on it. This comes up, "Win2k could not start because the following is missing or corrupt: \winnt\system32\config\systemced. I have no idea what to do. I cant loose the files on that drive, my parents will kill me. How do I replace that file or fix it? The recovery utility isnt working and it wont boot into any of the options when I press F8. I think i've learned my lesson for the final time. Don't touch your parents computer, or it will break!!

I also posted this in General HW.

Nope, all I did was try to put a second NIC in and then this. I hate this computer, i'm about to hit it with a baseball bat.

Is the second nic card still in there? If so, take it out. See if you still get the message. Use the repair utility. Boot to the cd-rom, and choose repair an installation.
