Hi all,
Just a general question. I have a Compaq Presario 1700 that has a bad Hitachi DK23BA-15 drive. I don't want to replace it with the same crappy Hitachi drive, but I don't know if Laptops can be picky about drives. The Hitachi drive is a 15 Gig, UATA/66 4200RPM "Slimeline 9.5mm" drive, so the quesiton is: Can I replace it with any drive that, of course, has the same form factor, but is, for example, a UATA/100 5400 or 7200RPM drive? Again, I just want to be sure no problems before ordering.
Thanks for the input!
