alright i purchased this monitor as refurb a few days ago, and im not very happy with its quality. I was hoping i could have another NEC AS95F to compare to, just to ensure i didnt receive a lemon.

Here are some problems i found, in order of magnitude:
-noticable degredation in quality as you approach right and left borders
-poor screen regulation (ie. fluctuations in geometry when screen content changes)
-geometry is somewhat distorted when monitor is first powered (fixes itself after a few minutes of warming up)
-color convergence is slightly off in some areas
-top 1/2 inch is slightly pinched in (not very noticable)
-makes a "clunky" sound when powering up and switching resolutions (i think this is normal though, except my old MAG piece of crap 17" makes the same sound)

So does anyone else have these problems with their AS95F? Thanks!

I have had a 95f for over a year now and have not noticed many of those problems. It does make the "clunky" noise and the text quality was ok, but not the best I had seen.

It sounds like you got a bad one.

I have an old clunky mag piece of crap too :)

I'm thinking about upgrading to the AS 125F It's a flatscreen, 21 inch. I've found one new for a good price on an auction site. I'm interested in it and PC World rated it sixth in it's 21 inch monitor ratings. Here's the review.

Accusync 125f

However, with the problems you're having with the 95, I'm kinda worried about getting it. I'd like a feqw questions answered too.

the 125F has a dot pitch of 25-27. Where according to NEd the 95 has a dot minch of 24-28. On such large monitors, is having variable dot pitch a problem. Do they look fine in the center but a little fuzzy at the edges? I'm gonna get this monitor online, and I havent found any in my area to look at.

Secondly, can you describe this color problem? According to the PC world review, the 125F showed colors that were slightly off. Especially skintone and what not. I'm a big gamer and will probably watch dvds on the monitor occasionall, and that might be a big turn off. Has anyone else had this problem with their 95f or 125f?
