Hi All,

I am posting this questiob because I have lost track of the AMD XP roadmap and am trying to catch up.

I have an Asus A7V133 motherboard (rev 1.05, latest bios 1009, i think) and I want to upgrade the CPU to the fastest that I can as I am not ready to replace memory/mobo/cpu, etc just yet.

As far as I can tell, the fastest CPU supported by this mobo is the XP 2100+ model 6. I believe this is the Palomino core, right? So my questions are:
1) can other 266 FSB XP's work or is my only option the Palomino?
2) Can someone suggest a vendor that stocks the model 6 CPU? I have been able to find the model 8 version of the 2100+, but I have not been too lucky in finding the model 6.

Thanks for your help!

model 6 is palomino, model 8 is t-bred a and b
the t-bred a should probably work fine since it's just a shrink of the Palomino. but the t-bred b has changes to the die. the safest bet is to go with a Palo, if not then a T-Bred A
