Help: When I turn on my computer, I see the (hit DEL for BIOS) screen, but then I just get a dark grey screen!

So i turn it on, get the phoenix bios screen blah blah blah shows im using DDR ram and says hit del for bios on the bottom...


then, i just get a blank grey screen.


any idea what this could be?

well me getting this when i press del, at times goes into bios at times just blank screen and cursor flashing, well maybe prob with your bios, are your drives detected before you get the grey screen?

well when I don't hit DEL, the screen turns grey... if I do hit DEL, then i enter BIOS.

I don't think drives are detected cuz I tried booting from CDROM with a linux boot disc and it didnt work (although I have been using WIN XP... linux is the only boot disc I had atm)

are u running your monitor with a dvi cable? if so, try the analog cable. it worked for me when i had the same problem.

did you by any chance take out some parts recently?

Are you using default bios system? Use the stable default setting first and see what happens.
