HI I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference is between win2000 oem and win2000 upgrade.
I bought windows 2000 that was advertised as an oem product but my friend said I was ripped off because it is an upgrade. I have been to MS windows 2000 support site but cant find any info on different 2000 pro systems.

Is there a difference. What wont a 2000 upgrade cd do that the oem version will.

I should point out that the reason that I bought the oem version is that I had an upgrade version before that I had problems dual booting with. I thought it might have been because I had the upgrade version and not the oem.

Should I be looking for a refund.

Software-wise the only real difference would be the fact that the upgrade would ask for proof that you have a product to upgrade from, the final installed product would be byte-for-byte the same.
