Help! What should I upgrade?

My system:

AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Gigabyte 7ZXE
512 Megs PC133 SDRAM
Geforce 3 Ti200

I'm thinking that I should get a new video card. But which one? Are Geforce 4 Ti4200s still decent? They're pretty cheap in Canada right now.

I'd go with an upgrade for your motherboard and RAM. With a chip as fast as an 1800+, you really should use DDR, otherwise you'll be experiencing a lot of bottlenecks. Your video card should be fine for now, but the motherboard and RAM will most likely be the wisest investment you could make.

I disagree. Your system looks pretty good for right now. I would hold off on upgrading completely unless you really find your games running slow. If you do, then the video card would probably be a good idea. DDR gives a pretty nice boost, but a GeForce4 would probably give a nicer boost. You should just upgrade your motherboard and memory when you upgrade your CPU. You never know, your next CPU might be a Hammer or a P4 and then the motherboard and memory don't get a long lifespan.
