Help! What should I do about RMAing a OEM drive to Seagate

My friend recently asked me over AIM why his comp kept on making a clicking noise. Well, from what he described, I concluded that his Seagate HD was dying. He gave me all the necessary information, and I filled out an Advance RMA for him since he doesn't have a CC. Today the replacement HD shows up, and I call him up to drop off the old HD so I can copy all his stuff. I take one look at the old hd and smack dab in the middle of the label it reads OEM, do not return to Seagate (something along those lines). So now I'm stuck with two HDs and one big problems. If I don't return a HD, Seagate is going to charge me for the new old. If I return the old OEM HD, Seagate might still charge me for the new one. If I returned the new HD, my friend would be out of some shipping cost and his problem won't be fixed. If anyone have any advice or gone through this before, please tell me what I should do.

Contact Seagate and explain what's happened, and what to do.

There's no one that'll know better than Seagate themselves! ;):)

Good luck.

I've been searching through some of the other newsgroups and that's what they all said, but the weird thing is, if they don't accept OEM drives, then why did the Advance RMA go through? In the newgroups, the posters said if you try to ask for an RMA of an OEM drive, Seagate won't give you a RMA number.
