Edit/ Crap - see update....

Hi all - I picked up a Clery 800 (100mhz) for my old BH6 1.01 board. I gave it a test try setting the fsb, multiplier, and voltage but I get blue screens after Windows 98se loads.

I'm sure I need to update the BIOS as I'm still running the one that came with the board in early 1999! So I have awdflash, the SS bios, and a boot floppy ready, but awdflash has the following switches/ options:

Awdflash 7.97D (C)Award Software 2001 All Rights Reserved

Usage: AWDFLASH [FileName1] [FileName2] [/<sw>[/<sw>...]]
FileName1 : New BIOS Name For Flash Programming
FileName2 : BIOS File For Backing-up the Original BIOS
<Swtches> ?: Show Help Messages
py: Program Flash Memory
pn: No Flash Programming
sy: Backup Original BIOS To Disk File
sn: No Original BIOS Backup
Sb: Skip BootBlock programming
Wb: Always Programming BootBlock
cd: Clear DMI Data After Programming
sd: Save DMI data to file
cp: Clear PnP(ESCD) Data After Programming
cc: Clear CMOS Data After Programming
LD: Destroy CMOS Checksum And No System Halt For First Reboot
After Programming
Tiny: Occupy lesser memory
QI: Qualify flash part number with source file
E: Return to DOS When Programming is done
R: RESET System After Programming
F: Use Flash Routines in Original BIOS For Flash Programming
cks: Show update Binfile checksum cksXXXX: Compare Binfile CheckSum with XXXX

Example: AWDFLASH 6A69R000.bin /py/sn/cd/cp/cks1A26

How on earth do I know which switches to use? Help!!!!

Before flashing, select "bios default values" in bios, then reboot from floppy disk.
awdflash.exe bh6_ss.bin /py /sb
Use the earlier awdflash version 6.6; later versions sometimes fail to flash correctly on the BH6.
ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/utilities/award_flash/awdfla66.exe
While still in Windows, double-click the downloaded file to extract the AWDFLASH.EXE file.
Boot from a boot floppy which has nothing but:
IO.SYS
MSDOS.SYS
COMMAND.COM
AWDFLASH.EXE
BH6_SS.BIN
(so that no memory manager is running).
After flashing, the CPU speed, multiplier & voltage must be set up under "User Defined" options.

OK, something went terribly wrong - I'm posting this from the Celery 800 on an Asus CUV4X-C I had to buy this afternoon.

I'm not sure what happened - there were no errors, it counted through fine, then said "Success! Press F1 to reboot"

F1 pressed, system looked like it would reboot.

And it never booted again. :(

Fans come on, lights too - but nothing else - no beeps, nothing on screen, never reads the floppy.

Cleared the Bios settings (reset battery), held Delete and F10 while turning it on... nada.

Removed everything but a PCI video card, the 300a, and the RAM - still nothing.

ARGH.

Ah well - the good news is that the Asus CUV4X-C seems like a nice little board...
