Help - what RAM for my Compaq Armada?

I have a Compaq Armada 1750 laptop and I owuld like to add antoerh 64MB. I know I can pay a fortune for Armada approved memory, but can I just use a 64MB SODIMM? Do i *have* to go with the ultra-expensive stuff only?

Compaq is probably the worst company in the industry in terms of using non-vendor RAM with their rigs. If you can return RAM once you buy it, you may just try a couple of DIMMS, or someone here might know of a compatible chip from one of the larger Ram manufacturers. Compaq sux for RAM upgrades for this very reason.
