Help! What could have caused this???

I'm getting blamed for breaking a few PCs with a script, but I've tested it on other PCs and it worked fine. I've also poured over the script line by line and it is pretty simple and couldn't have caused this. My script just searches the hard drive for a file, puts the location and other info of the file into a text file and then uploads it to server.

The PCs office applications are all broke. It keeps asking for the office CD and the icons are all messed up. Looks like something happened with the registry. I can't figure out how my script that just messes with text files could mess up the registry. Also one PC won't even boot with a Kernal error. The only thing I can think of is if they were already infected with a virus that does this and it was triggered by me running a vbscript or ftp.exe. Anybody heard of a virus that sounds like this? Or any other ideas?

sorry, not enough info.

Win 2k SP4 can cause the icon errors. what's the name of the file you're moving?

Now all the machines have to be re-imaged... hal.dll missing, etc. Something major happened. BTW, there is no virus forum. I thought off-topic was for anything so I figured it was the safest.... guess not.

Can't ya just reinstall office?

Most of our reimages are caused by SMS pushes that go bad and corrupt everything. We have quite a few where any time a user tries to run an office product it tries to reinstall the program and says it can't be used. But for those we do have to reimage.
