What worked the best for me is to go to bed at the same time every day and then wake up at the same time every day. My wife and friends think I'm nuts to wake up early on weekends. But my cronic afternoon sleepyness has vanished.

You're not the only one! I fall asleep in class all the time. I'm a night person, only fully awake at nights. No matter how much I sleep, I just can't seem to stay awake. Whether it be 8, 9, 10 hours, I will still fall asleep. Caffeine doesn't help much either for me.

well if you dont have any methamphetimines handy, you're gonna have to use caffeine like the rest of us ;)

its probably your diet. and you might not be getting enough sleep at night.

eat a light breakfast (like an apple or 2) and don't eat a real big lunch.

other than that you could try jogging on your lunch hour.

Most things tend to give you the jitters, if you do not mind that, use an ephedrine/coffeine combo of 20mg ephedrine and 200mg caffeine, you could try to add naringine to that combo to increase the fat burning effect, but the actual breakdown of caffein into it's metabolite is not such a bad thing if you ask someone who knows about it.

Ginseng works for some people, try it and see what it does for you.

[EDIT] explanation regarding the metabolite of caffeine:paraxanthine is just as thermogenic and works just as good as caffeine so lowering the breakdown rate does not really decrease the efficiancy of the formula [/EDIT]

This was exactly my problem. I constantly switched from 6 to 7 to 8 to 9 and back. My body couldn't keep up and I was sleepy every afternoon.
Caffeine does nothing to me as well. I can drink two cups of coffee immediately before bedtime and still fall asleep as well as if I drank water.

Water. I had the same problem (passing out around 3pm or so). Tried coffee, more sleep, etc. Turns out I was basically dehydrated all the time as I was only drinking coffee/caffeinated soda. Even slight dehydration will knock you out....try knocking back a few pints of water during the day and see if that helps.

to keep you awake and lose weight?

If you are at work...find a coworker of the opposite sex who is also having this problem and bang her

If you are at school, bang a classmate or teacher..

If you are married...have a late lunch/nooner with her... :D

You need a cafecito, cuban coffee, roofing tar. Espresso with a healthy mix of sugar. It gets you over the hump.

Eating in the middle of the day (lunch) always makes me sluggish, so I eat a large breakfast, including fruit of juice, cereal, yogurt (on the cereal), and a couple of strong cups of coffee. The carbs and caffein get me running and are enough fuel for the day, and I don't eat again until dinner. Use your lunch hour for whatever else you can get done. :)

I don't know if that's the only reason, but I'm, 60, 6' 2", about 185 lbs, and healthy, as far as I know. :)
