Help what am i doing wrong, connecting sub to receiver/amp

Hello,
So we purchased a bundle with an avr70 harman Kardon amp and the hkts5 harmon kardon speakers, but the subwoofer has a lfe and trigger cable, the amp only has the lfe plug...i cant get the subwoofer to work.... :-( I have tried to set it up with the old red and white cables, but still just a flashing light on the sw no sound at all, Have checked settings and says sw on...still nothing, when i run the test..still no sound...please help

Are the following things true?

1. Youre using the RCA cable connected from the sub out jack on your receiver to the Line-Level In/LFE connector jack on the sub
2. Youve selected YES for sub on your AVR
3. Youve set your front and surround speakers to SMALL
4. You've got the crossover set on the AVR, and the dial on the sub is set for 150htz
5.The sub power is set for ON instead of AUTO
6. The volume is turned up on the sub
