HELP WEIRD REBOOTING PROBLEM!!

Hello, I have a very strange rebooting problem.

the specs are as follows:

Asus A7V 333 mb
Athlon xp 1800+
256 PC-2700 DDR333 memory
Radeon 7000

I built this computer for a friend of mine. Everything was working fine, installed win xp, and then suddenly the computer resets while i was installing office xp. So i thought ok its just one reset, then later on I reinstall office, it finishes, and then after 5 mins it resets itself again. Then, i load back xp and go back into windows and leave it there for like 2 mins and then it resets. Now here comes the strange part, after this reset it continues to reset while trying to load windows. It resets literally everytime. Also it would reset when i try to load safe mode into windows. Now, i think it is a windows problem (ie. reinstalling windows). But i feel it is also a hardware problem, because of the earlier resets.

Anyone have an idea as to what is causing the resets? Another friend of mine had problems wit massive resetting and he said it was his power supply. SO we are gonna try exchanging that.

But, it is definately not the heat because he has a good fan and the temp is at like 29degrees celcius. I just cannot figure out what is cuasing the resets. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Backup all important data on the system. Reset all BIOS settings to fail-safe defaults, and then change the ones that need to be changed for compatibility, but leave all performance options at default. Format your drive. Install Windows XP on it's own partition. After installation, update your BIOS, drivers, and OS. If problems still persist, try to isolate the problem to one piece of hardware. Switch out sticks of memory one at a time, or replace them all together. Try a different CPU. Also, try a different PSU. Power supplies are often overlooked when troubleshooting, even though they are often the cause.
