Long story short. My Dell x1 laptop was standing in water about 2 inches deep in a bag.
Almost everything seems to work fine after a few blue screens, false startups, and some blowdrying. My only problem now is the Fn key. I can use the laptop for everything but typing.

For some reason the Fn key is acting like it is being depressed all the time. For example when i press the arrow key, the secondary function clicks in and turns the screen's brightness brighter or dimmer. They keyboard was wet.

Any suggestions?

Got warranty? Have Dell fix it. Trust me, my brother makes crap up when there's scratches on his laptop so he can get a new screen, so I'm certain that'd fall under warranty.

Though, one thing you really need to take into consideration should this ever happen again is this: The parts aren't damaged by the water itself as long as they're entirely dry before turning them back on. When you put an electrical device in water when it's on, it shorts because the water acts as a conductor. If it's off, there's a chance it can be saved, but it must be bone dry before trying to give it power. It's not the water that does the damage (even after long periods of time, that's rust) it's the electric current.

But chances are, since it's already on, the damage is done. If it doesn't start functioning properly on it's own, call tech support.
