hey all, i am on a my grams computer down in florida, and i am having a problem now, when i boot up, i have zero problems, but once i go into outlook express...

i get a Logon Box,

her name is in there... password is saved.. yet if you click OK.. comes back, then if you click cancel it goes away!!!!!!?

NOW HOW CAN I GO ABOUT getting rid of this????

Does she have more than one e-mail account that it is trying to check? I always set my outlook express to automatically login to all of the accounts it needs to check (I have four hotmail accounts it goes through).

That happens on my system ,it usually means that mediaone's mail server is down

hm... i have one account set to default...

the server isnt down.. (i dont think) 🙂 it has been doing this for about a month or 2... and i havent had time to fly down here! 😉

in outlook express, click on tools and go to accounts. go into the properties for the account that you are trying to check. click on the servers tab. what is in there for incoming mail server? is it the correct server for your ISP? what is in the box for account name? usually it should be just the first part of your email addres, without the @****.***. also, delete what is in there for password and retype it. try putting everything in lowercase. check remember password.

the so called "tech" person that worked on this comp, to help out my gram when i wasn't there, spelled the incoming mail sever "earhtlink" instead of earthlink!
