HELP w/ Win98SE log-on

Sluggo

Lifer
I get the password deal every time I boot-up, it's driving me nuts. I have tried entering info, pressing ESC, clicking cancel...all for nothing. I have changed my network setting to Windows Log-on about 15 times, I have edited my system.ini and erased all *.pwl files, but the damn thing still comes up. Anyone solved this one? All suggestions short of Linux appreciated. Not flaming Linux users by any means, don't take offense. Not sure if I am ready for a dual-boot system, when just having one OS keeps me hopping.

try going into "Network" from "Control Panel" and there should be a box with a choice of "Windows Logon" & "Client for Microsoft Networks".

Change this to "Windows Logon" and this should sort ur prob 🙂

rockhard 🙂

Thanks for the help warlord, it never occurred to me that the problem arose when I installed Tweak. I just needed to adjust the log-in and paranoia settings a bit. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
