Help w/ Win2000 & SB Live EAX support!!

I just installed Win2000, downloaded the latest SB Live! drivers, and am currently trying out Need For Speed III. I enabled the D3D/EAX audio support in the game, but in this mode the audio is a screwed up in the game. When I switch to stereo, its perfectly fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
