Can anyone help me. I can't access my mail or news servivies when conected through my router. My mail server is mail, and my news server is news. There is nothing extra to them. Is there some way to let the computers on the network access these servers. I have even tried the DMZ settings.

Please Help

Thanks

you need to enter the full domian name, it should be in the papers you got with the install goes something like CITY.ST.home so take the name for your area and enter

mail.city.st.home for both send and recieve mail addresses then enter

news.city.st.home for the news server.

Works good for me.

Hook your computer directly up to the cable modem, go to a dos window and do a

ping news
ping mail

and it will give you the actual host name in the ping results. Either use this hostname or the ip address and it will work even from behind the router.

Yes, the router requires that you enter both the host name...ie: the C15xxxx-A AND the domain... (See appendix C)

Mine is potlnd1.or.home.com...

And you can ping news or mail to see it. (although it should be on your install receipt they gave you.

You can also find the full domain name by logging into the members area of the @home web page.
