Setting up a simple LAN shouldn't be having this much problems, done before - maybe I'm just overlooking something stupid!
Note my previous post w/ a more complex subnetting question - this assumes all the subnets and extra routers have been removed.
I went back to a simple lan configuration but still cant make my 3 pc share file (or see each other)
Have a DSL modem / router / fire wall acting as the DNS & DHCP servers, w/ a 10/100 swithch /hub attached. 2 XP & 1 W2k systems are attached to the switch.
the router can see all three systems, but each syste can't see the others. I've gone into windows and created a network connection w/ the same name - with no luck.
Anything suggests on how to start trouble shooting this problem?
thanks
