Help w/RAM

I added more memory to my old PC, but when I booted up, it only recognized 40.0 mb. I ran SiSoft Sandra, and it gave the following:

Logical/Chipset Memory Banks
Bank 0 Setting - 16mb
Bank 1 Setting - 16mb
Bank 2 Setting - 8mb
Memory Bus Speed - 67mhz

The confusing part is that in DIMM3, I have a 32mb stick of ram. Is there a way to change that setting to allow for the full 32mb stick, or am I mis-interpreting this?

Thanks,
Mike15262

when you say old system, how old the system really is? Does it take DIMM chips or SIMM chips? If it is an EDO memory, I believe it has to be in pairs and hence only recognizing partially.

What happens when you take out one stick from your BANK 0 or the first one with 16MB?
