ive had a 200 mhz computer that hasn't been running a while, my dad has been to lazy to mess with it. so i decided to, and i didnt have my windows cd. i move it around one day, then i tried to use it, and the video wouldnt even work. i cleaned out some of the dust, and it worked. it then brought up a screen saying "disk error" or something of that sort, so i unplug all the IDE cables, and then plug just the HD in, does it again. i then unplugged the floppy cable, now says there is no floppy. replugged all of them in, and then it brings up something about you need to insert diagnostics disk if you want to run unix, and asked if i wanted to save the changed that i had done, being stupid i did. now even when there is no floppy plugged in, it brings up the non system disk error, help!

First I must know if you need to keep what is on the computer at this moment. If not, see if you can boot up with a boot disk. If you can, wipe it out and load an OS. If you don't have a Winbloze CD, take the HD from a comp that has a working copy, and copy that drive to your 200MHz system.

Sorry if I'm not of much help, but I'm afraid that's all I can offer.

any msdos boot disk will suffice (though one with cdrom drivers on it will be needed to access cdrom - any 98 bootdisk should have these drivers on them)
