Hi, I have a Nvidia 6800gt 256mb pcie card and while i game ive not yet seriously tested the card or my rig, but the game intro to Age of Empires 2 is very choppy. im also using a monitor from a micron pc i bought in '99. does this sound like a driver issue or could it be my monitor or something else? Any help is reatly appreciated.

Your monitor can't cause the game to go choppy, this sounds like driver issues to me. Have you updated both the nVidia drivers and the AOE 2 game itself? Newer game patches do a good job of fixing incompatibilities. also look at non-official drivers such as the 71.20's and the newer 71.84's.

Also, how is the actual game itself? sometimes the cutscenes don't work right. For example, the cutscenes in KOTOR 2 run choppy at times on my comp but the game is as smooth as silk at the max res.

Lion, AoE II cutscenes run choppy on my older Geforce mx440, which should run it perfectly. It might just be the game.
