Okay, help from the "Highly Technical" community. My mom's old computer is a PC/XT clone, the AT&T 6300 with 5-1/4 floppy (360K) and 10MB hard disk, which is an MFM drive on a MFM controller. All her docs are on the drive, and it works, but the floppies aren't read by any other 360K floppy (head alignment?), so I can't get anything on or off the PC. I tried putting a different floppy drive in it, but the PC only recognizes the original drive. It's almost like the jumpers must be set squirrelly, so that it's like proprietary 360K format. And I tried putting that floppy drive in another machine. It can't be accessed there. I also tried putting the hard drive and controller in another machine and another hard drive & controller in her machine. None of them talk together. So, the AT&T was made by Olivetti and uses proprietary hardware parts. But this is ridiculous! Last resort would be to find a data transfer place (NOT data recovery), since the hard drive works.

Any ideas here, guys?
