Help w/ Linksys wireless router/switch

Whenever I have the wireless portion enabled, my laptop does not find the network, and the regular computers attached w/ cords become slow to the internet.

I have turned off WEP and UPnP to try and minimize what the prob is but I can't solve it. Any suggestions?

I have a feeling if I get it to see the wireless network, then the speed would go back up for the wired computers (ie the problems are interrelated)

Try a firmware flash or a reset to default to see if that resolves it. Then call Linksys.

Is your wireless card properly configured? Is it using the correct SSID? Is it in Infrastructure mode?

I was under that impression that w/ SSID broadcast turned on (like my router has) I shouldn't have to configure my wireless NIC especially since I have WEP turned off (as a test)

When I went to my friends house w/ my laptop it discovered the network automatically...I expected the same here.

I assume mac address filtering is also turned off (or that your WAP is configured for your laptop's MAC address)?

Yeah MAC filtering is also turned off. I just want to get it to work before I turn on all the security stuff
