does anyone else here who owns the handspring visor deluxe experience any kinds of problems when trying to beam data from one pda to another...? my visor deluxe has the 3.1H2 OS on it, and i CONSTANTLY get a 'beam interrupted' error every time i try to send data with it. receiving data from others is almost 100% ok. the largest thing i can send is a business card. i called handspring and spoke with them about it, and they sent me a replacement unit, arrived today... same exact problem. is anyone else going through this? is there an updated OS version or patch that fixes this? any ideas? i'm about ready to return both units and get a palm.

i never have that problem and know several others' with a visor and they havent had probs either...if you sit it on the table about 12 inches from the recieving unit and try does it still do the same thing? if so then something is really messed up, sorry youve had problems with handspring as i love mine and wouldnt ever trade it for a palm

make sure you are near by each other.. put them within 6 inches of each other..

Beam Intruppted mean it has lost line of sight.
Keep them on a table opposite each other and try.

not overclocking... not running any applications that should cause problems... besides, the brand new unit they just shipped me is barebones in terms of the software on it.. has the basic apps only, and it still has the same problem. is it possible that the v1.0.0 updater fixes this? it supposedly upgrades the OS to 3.1H3 from H2... there is also an IrDA updater which i haven't tried because it seems like it's for enabling IR transfer between visor and cellphone... any suggestions?

they're positioned perfectly on the tabletop... anywhere from 5 to 12 inches... the transfer always "seems" to start, and then gives me the "beam interrupted" error, which is ridiculous because nothing is passing between the two units. i have them lying next to each other on a tabletop...
