help w/ Image Toolbar & image saving in Windows XP

you know that little 4-button "image toolbar" that pops up when you hover the pointer over a photo in Windows XP? Well when you click the save icon, and also when you do a manual right-click "save picture as," WinXP always wants to save the images with a *.jpeg extension. Is there anyway to tell it to save the photos with a *.jpg extension by default so I don't have to always delete the e before saving the photo? Thanks!!!
