alright.. something weird is goin on w/ my cs... i dunno what caused it either.. it was fine yesterday and its not today... the problem is.. when i play now, it is constantly freezing for a split second.. like the sound breaks up and everybody stops moving.. and it happens constantly, in a pattern.. like every 2 secs or so. then for a split second it freezes up and its really gettin me mad...

i dunno what could be causing this, but the only things that ive changed since yesterday are that i installed AutoCAD and installed a Serial Port 100MB Zip Drive.. when the problem first happened for a bit i decided to reinstall halflife, sierra, and cs.. i did that hoping to get rid of the problem but that didnt do it

im runnin win2k sp2, nvidia geforce 2 pro gts w/ a PIII, 1ghz, 512 mb of RAM... anybody got any idea what the problem could be?? I got the latest drivers for the video card from nvidia's site also, and that didnt fix it... so, i dunno what else to do.. i dunno much about fps and all that stuff, so that could easily be it, and i wouldnt have a clue...

I would recommend to take the zip drive out. If that dosent work, then uninstall autocad. And if that dosent work, then reformat your hard drive!:Q

Try it with a disk in the zip drive and without a disk in the zip drive. Sometimes it might try to acces the zip drive for some reason and then it freaks for a second.

Hope it helps.

that would be my bet... as long as youre convinced its not a lag situation...

also close all background programs to free up resources before running cs

I know its not crappy ping.. I tried tons of different servers, then even put up my own server, where my ping was 0 and it still did it.. and i tried other servers where my ping was less than 30 and it didnt help... So im sure its not my ping.. I'll have to try the zip disk thing later tonight when i get back home.. thanks for the suggestions...
