I been looking to replace my SuperOrb Cooler for my athlon 1.4Gig cpu. Which currently idles at 49C. Which I think is pretty high, I want to overclock this to 1.5(Asus A7M266). However I want to lower my temp before I attempt to overclock. I want a fan that will outperform the SuperOrb (3 or more degrees, which i think is possible considering how crappy the superorb is). Can someone recommend me a fan that has
(1) Very Low Noise, i think the superorb is at 43dB
(2) outperform SuperOrb

If you guys have links to some more reviews, that would be great.

I feel like such a moron for wasting my money on the orb, Loud, crappy, and big.
Thanks in advance,

Notes*
(1) My temp readings are from Asus Probe.
(2) I know I should read from MB Monitor but I could not get it to work.
(3) I have read many different reviews on some of the HSF out there, but I am more confused now then ever before.

Get a GlobalWin FOP32. I've got one of these on my duron 800@1026mhz and it idles at about 42degrees celsius. 48degrees fully loaded. Do a search on google for processor cooling reviews to see which is the best.

If that cooler don't keep it cool, then water cooling probably won't help! Damn, that's a huge cooler! And very quiet! You can also buy JUST a heatsink with screw holes and try these with a larger, quieter fan.

If you blow through a fan adapter, you can get back pressure sufficient enough to actually make it cool worse.

If you want to cool you Tbird, spend $45 on an MC-370 Swiftech. It's relatively quiet, very easy to install and an excellent cooler.
