Ok I run XP Pro, Clean install into very new and already tested equipment. All of it XP certified.
I have a Visiontek GeForce 3 Ti 500 vid card.
When I launch Quake, or RTCW ... I completly crash. Mind you, the games have never been able to run. This is right after the install. I go to run them, and I just get a blank white or black screen.

I run the drivers that came with my vid card which i believe are the 21's. I d/led the 23's and installed them... and when PC came back up.. I had no screen... Yes no screen.. completly blank/grey. I could not get out without rebooting.. and same just comes up.. So I have to reformat... but what can i do to avoid this just from happening all over again.

Please help.

I have the same card, and therefore the same problem. The only thing that i did that fixed it, was use another vid card to install windows, then install the ti-500 using the 15.7 drivers and the 1.08 update thing which allows the card to be recognized in XP...then you should be able to do things just fine. This won't help a fresh install, but its a start

The vid card comes with the 21's.

Also, I called MS they said that card was approved for XP already, so it really should not be having these problems... hmmm...

I shall look into it some more thanx.
