Help...Video IMage problems with Games (Quake UT etc)

I have been playing UT, Quake etc for a while now with my TNT2 Ultra Card. Recently I tried to play UT and as soon as it starts I see white lines in the graphics that look pretty bad. In addition, the games freezes after about 15 seconds or as soon I touch the keyboard or mouse.

I was reading some info on Firing Squad website about 2D/3D basics. I think what I am seeing when I say "white lines" are various "triangles" that are showing up. Does this have anything to do with "T&L"? If so, what is the remedy?

Quake III freezes up as soon as I touch anything.

Any ideas?
