Help! video fast forward suddenly

made a thread in the video section but got no help so here goes.

I play a video and sometimes it randomly skips about 5 sec ahead in about 1 sec and then continues to play from there. During the skip, I can see all of the frames in the 5 sec really fast. It usually happens when I am well into a video, maybe happens every 15 mins.

It is not a problem with player since it happened in both realplayer and windows media.
Not a problem with my harddrive either, one is ide and one sata both have problem.

how can I fix this?
 
it happens with all the videos i play
specificly it is .rmvb @ about 451 kbps, 2 audio channels,dunno codec, it has a 9 thing beside the kbps
