Help video card screwing up my comp

Questi4110

Senior member
I have a Geforce 2 GTS 32 meg card
I downloaded the Windows XP (my OS) 23.11 det drivers
When i was installing (self installation) (btw they are not digitally signed) the installation froze up so i closed the program
Next thing i know my computer restarts...when windows boots up it says the problem is due to geforce 2 gts drivers
but i check the drivers and they are the same from before
Anyway...i go back and download the drivers right before the 23.11 the 23.10 (not digitally signed)
after doing this my computer is still restarting
right before restarting it has a beep, freezes for about 6-7 seconds, and then restarts
Please help!

THANKS

Try installing the new drivers (or re-installing the old drivers) from Safe Mode.

It sounds like some components of the new driver are installed, but the installation didn't get far enough to update the registry, so you're still seeing references to the old drivers.

You may need to uninstall all of the video drivers, reboot, and re-install whichever drivers from scratch.

Good Luck

Scott

Duh, always use safe-mode if you're having any sort of driver-related problem especially with something like your video card. Video drivers can get real ugly.
