Have a problem that just emerged out of nowhere, and I am not sure if it is a video card or LCD monitor.
About two months ago, my MOBO died, and I received a replacement...since I had to rebuild my system, I decided to upgrade my video card to an eVGA 8800GT...I also have an LG 226WTQ LCD monitor.
Well I have had my system up and running for a month with no problems.
Tonight, when I turned on my computer, I noticed multiple, very thin horizontal blue lines jumping and bouncing up and down on my screen during the bios bootup.
Now that I am into windows, viewing this browser window, I am not noticing the blue lines...I also cannot see blue lines if I open say a picture or another application...however, I changed my desktop background to a pure black background, and if I minimize my window, the lines are clearly visible.
Also, when I enter a game, the bootup windows...nVidia logo, publisher logos, etc...no blue lines...but once the game menu appears, I see the blue lines again.
Is this a GPU or monitor issue?
In terms of troubleshooting, I updated my video drivers just to be sure, but that didnt resolve the issue.
