Help! Video card dimm hs modules feel hotter than cpu hsf!!!!

To the touch, they feel a lot hotter!

And my computer crashes halfway through 3dmark2k1 se! I don't get a blue screen, the screen just freezes during a test.

My computer:

p4 1.8a @ 2.1 ghz (using stock hsf)
256 mb ddr ram
visiontek gf3 ti200 (heatspreaders and hsf)
4 panaflo l1as (case door is open)

I attempted a minor overclock of the gf3 (20 mhz ram and core) and ran 3dmark2k1se..., the comp froze halfway through. I restored defaults...and it still freezes halfway through. Before i did any overclocking, it worked perfectly.

What can i do? did i fux0r up the vid card? i am reinstalling it right now..

hmm thats a tough call. you shouldnt feel that much heat coming off the ram as my Ti500 overclocked doesnt get very hot at all. You can damage video cards by overclocking but that was pretty modest, i would say reseat the card and reinstall the drivers. Then try it again.

my gf3ti200 (nominal OC) ran hot as hell until it died about a month ago.
