HELP !!!! Video Capture Problems !!!!

Mohammad

Senior member
I tried to capture using a softwre from avermedia , i think the name is avermedia easy capture . Anyways , i was able to record 32 secs in a file that was 500 MB !!!. Even then the video was very crappy and slow . I have never tried to capture video and believe me yesterday's experience was a bad one .
I have a Happauge WintTV . I woudl really appreciate it if someone could help mw with the following questions

1.) What software should i use ?
2.) How can i reduce the file size ?
3.) How can i improve hte video quality ?

😕

1) Virtual Dub (www.virtualdub.org)
2) File->Capture, then video->compression and audio->compression and F6 to capture
3) WinTV maximum capture in Overlay mode is 320X240. For anything else you have to turn off overlay mode and on: Preview mode. Quality goes then, so do CPU resources.

You might want to download the DivX 🙂 beta codec from http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm under codecs to compress DivX.
