HELP !! Vertical lines suddenly appearing on my ASUS LCD ?!

Hey all ... I just wanted to get some advice from all of you ... I have an ASUS VW266H LCD which I bought about 3-4 months ago from Zip Zoom Fly.. What happened was that I was just watching a movie on this LCD right now, and all of a sudden these colors vertical lines started to appear on the LCD out of nowhere .. I tried turning the LCD off and on, and tried connecting other input sources (PS3, Xbox 360, Laptop Output) but the vertical lines remained there .. There are two pictures of these vertical lines appearing:

Can someone tell me what may have caused this ? And this damage would fall under the warranty, right ? And what would be the warranty procedure, as I have never claimed a warranty before ..

Thanks in advance for all your help .. 🙂

should be covered under warranty. no idea on what would have caused that. maybe some internal soldering point going bad.

do you have it hooked up via digital or analog connectors? any way to try the other connectors?

That does not look like a problem with the LCD since you have a 360 on there. Try hooking something else up and if the lines go away then you will know for sure.

Those lines are usually a warning sign for E74 error on your xbox360. I hope that helps. Try googling e74 and youtube also to get more info.

He said he gets the lines with a PS3 and laptop as well, so it's definitely the LCD. He should try a different input as already mentioned.

I have a question that's similar. I've been getting similar lines on my 2408WFP that's still under warranty. However, when I turn it off and back on again, the lines go away. It seems to happen when the system comes out of hibernate and did not happen until after I switched from Win XP to Win7x64, but that might just be a coincidence. I have a DVI connection from a 2900 Pro video card. Nothing's changed except the OS. I'd appreciate any help and insight into this.

I'm also wondering if there's any way to upgrade my monitor through a warranty exchange (as it would be nice to switch to a U2410).
