hi there. My roomate has on old Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop and i noticed that he had a super old bios version named A06 and the current is A32. In order to get A32, you need to go from the old one to A22 via an MS-DOS flash utility called Bootcat which i got from this site:
http://www.bay-wolf.com/flashbios.htm
Then after that update, you should be able to then update via windows to get the A32 version. Unfortunately, after the first DOS flash, the PC does not even post or show any signs of life. The flash utility said it flash 100% successfully, and the rechecked was 100% successful too, so their should be no problem. My roommate is on the phone with dell tech support, and is getting nowhere. Anyone think they can help me out with a possible solution?
