Help turning a Powerpoint picture slide into a movie

TallBill

Lifer
So last year someone in my family made a powerpoint slide with 177 pictures for my grandparents 50th anniversary. I want to place the pictures into windows movie maker and add a background track.

Is there any quick way to get all of the pictures out of the powerpoint file? And is there a quick way to import all of the pictures into movie maker?

177 isn't that many, but cutting some corners would be nice. I'll have to buy some DVD labels and maybe some plastic cases.

There's a tool I used, I wish I could recall the name, but it allowed to export a powerpoint as a video file. I actually used it to make a youtube video of a power point. The quality was not that great but it was ok.

Another option is to use hypercam to just capture the screen while you run through the presentation.

Hmm, I want to keep image quality as decent as possible. Some are decent quality pictures, while others are already a bit shaky.

Google turns up a fairly obvious way to get the pictures out: save as html, and the pictures should be saved in a subdirectory.

I wouldn't know about Movie Maker; I only write AviSynth scripts. 😉

It is a lot easier than said so far. Open Powerpoint. Use the SAVE AS function, then down below, under file type, select JPG, then Save. You will then get a question - to save every slide individually or save them all as one. Select the individual option. If resolution is important, you can select TIF format, but that would be wasted in a movie.

Then you have all of the slides in independent JPG format and you can use any CD/DVD movie slide show program and use the "Ken Burns" zoom/motion effect to create your "movie."
