Here's what keeps happening: http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/5204/7000noworkee8ow.jpg

A damn This device cannot start. (Code 10) error

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the ATi drivers, & the Diamond drivers, but i'm sure it's not a driver issue.

I'm assuming it's some sort of IRQ conflict, but i don't know how to fix it.

I've set the bios to handle Plug n Play options, & then i tried it with that disabled & the "Windows to set that" option to no avail.

The only way to get the yellow exclamation mark away & the card working was to go in the bios & set the PCI card to be primary, & the PCI-e X1900 as secondary, but since i only want my projector to work off the 7000, this really doesn't work, as then my dual 20" displays won't turn on till the PC gets into Windows, & i can't see bios or anything till i get into XP :(

Can anyone tell me what IRC settings i need to mess with, or is this a Windows issue?

I'm running Windows XP with the specs in sig.

This is what i am trying to achieve: http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/2041/picture026large9kv.jpg

try generic driver(vga) on both see if they both work. if they both work, then its a driver issue.
mb bios update?

i agree with you that it is probablly an IRQ conflict. i know that in my BIOS, i can manually chnage the IRQ settings if i want. you should be able to do the same thing. the PCI-e should have a higher IRQ then the PCI slot.

Yeah, didn't help.

Get cheap PCI-E video card FTW?

I would, but that'd be only a temporary fix then, since eventually i will run SLI most likely, & then i'd have to get a cheap card & try to get it working.

I talked to a tech buddy of mine & he suggested checking what IRQ the 7000 is using when it's running (when i have it set as primary instead of secondary), & then setting that IRQ to reserved in the bios.

I'll have to give that a shot when i get home, & if that doesn't work, then i'll be getting a different PCI card to try.

Bah, such hassle for something that should be so simple.

The IRQs that the PCI card(s) use were higher than the ones i am able to set IRQ as reserved for, so that didn't work :(

I decided to use the portrait mode display off the 7000, & hook the main 20" & projector off the X1900.

Now though, the 7000 is causing annoying diagonal tearing in the picture when scrolling in portrait mode, something the X1900 didn't have an issue with.

The other option thing that's bugging me is the S-Video cable included with the X1900...wtf does it not work with the card it came with?

The card has a 7-pin config; the cable is 4-pin, yet it doesn't fit.

WTF
