Hello,
Using AMD FX-55 cpu and the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard.
I am trying to POST my new rig and all I get when I turn on the power is a LOUD beep/tone that doesn't stop. All I have right now are the power connectors, 1 DDR stick, and the AGP graphics card in. Nothing else. Ofcourse, the MSI manual doesn't tell me what would cause a tone like that....please help, I wanna get this rig built tonight.

THanks!

Alright, I put 1 dimm in slot 3 and took out the video card, turned on power and had no beeps. I think plugged in video card and had beeps. I am using the 6800GT in my sig below, which has been running fine on my old system for 4 months. DO I have to do something special to get it to work with the AGP slot?

Thanks

I'm STUPID!!! IN my haste to get this rig up, I had been forgetting to plug in the power connector to my 6800GT....DUH. Oh man do I feel stupid. So, what are the possible ramnifications of this type of stupid thing? Could I have damaged my video card???
