Hello,
I have done a clean install of XP Pro and set up the drive with five partitions including a 2GB Data partition. I scoured the web for info on moving the Documents and Settings folder to a Data partition only to find many cant's, dont's and shouldn'ts. When I found birdpup's excellent "Resource" sticky I was very thankful. The problem for me is that I'm not sure enough if the "copy C:\Documents and Settings\* D:WinXP\" statement is done from the command prompt or in Explorer. I'm a beginner at the command prompt so I'm being cautious. I've searched these forums for a step by step but no luck. Any help on this would be mucho appreciated.
Also, if I reinstall in the future, do I use the same procedure in Environment Variables to re-associate the files?
And...what are your opinions on moving these files?
XP-17GB, Apps-10GB, Data-2GB, Games-15GB, Backup-20GB Unallocated-10GB
Thanks, treggmo
