Hi Everybody!

I just built my new PC with the following components:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache, Socket 939
MOBO: ASUS A8V Deluxe
RAM: Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT, 2x512mbs
HDD: SAMSUNG 160GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model SP1614C
VIDEO: NVIDIA FX 5200, 128mbs DDR
CASE: Antec SLK3700-BQE, 350W
MONITOR: NEC Multisync LCD 1860NX, 18"

BIOS got upgraded to 1009.

Can anybody advice or guide on how to overclock it to the max stable speed?

Please help, I'm really new to the overclocking world and jargon.

Best Regards 🙂

Just a little tip. The A8V has an Auto Overclock feature in the bios. Do not use it, as it will raise cpu voltages to dangerous levels in order to push the cpu harder, and you could easily kill it that way. I am currently running a similar system and have my 3000+ overclocked to 2.4 ghz with just 1 night's work. I used both of those links to help me.

I read both notes, but cannot find how I can make my ram go faster than 200mhz on the A8V mobo.

do you know how to do that on my mobo ?

Thanks 🙂

200 just implies a 1:1 ratio (RAM runs runs at 200 when the FSB is at 200=stock). If your FSB is 250 and RAM is set for 200, you RAM is (is trying to) run at 250 MHz.

There is a good guide for A64 OCing at the top of this forum (Quick and Dirty A64 OCing guide or something). It will get you started in the right direction.
