a brief description.
I had Solus Linux on a Seagate Firecuda.
I had Win10 on a Adata SSD boot + Seagate barracuda data
Was set up in Grub for dual boot. all was well
a few weeks ago i got a Kingwin hard drive switch. works well. Now i can push a button to turn off/on drives. (rarely used win10 so i wanted to turn off those drives)
now the problem. Since i got the switch i wanted to return the OS's to their native boot and keep them isolated. I also decided to add a 4th Seagate drive for OS testing. No more dual boot. sure, i have to get up to push a couple of buttons (first world problem
)
As of now, i have disk 1 = Linux Mint
disk 2 and 3 win10
disk 4 solus budgie
i wiped disk one (former Solus Gnome3) and installed Linux Mint. all good
I wiped disk 4 (former Linux Mint) and installed Solus Budgie.
Now the problem, I turn off disk 1 and 4. Turn on 2 and 3 and try to boot to Win10. But i had grub2 boot loader on this drive(only way to get win10 and Linux to play nice)
I want to remove the grub loader and return windows 10 to its native boot. (i get grub error with grub rescue command prompt) I would prefer not to have to reinstall Win10.
Would running the Windows installer again and run repair/rescue fix this? Like i said hoping there is a fix for this as i prefer not to have to reinstall Win10 if i do not have to. Just want to make sure i do this right and not make things worse.
