I am having a lot of trouble with this ATI Rage Fury Pro video card. The only way I can stop it from giving me a black screen and crashing is to move the graphics performance slider to half way. I am using all the latest mobo and chipset bios upgrades and drivers. Moving the slider seems to disable the 3d capabilities. In other words it won't run the games I had hoped..

I am running:

Duron 600 @ 600
Asus A7V
256MB PC133
Creative 52X
Soundblaster Live Value
ATI Rage Fury Pro 32MB

I am so frustrated that I am open to any suggestions. Please refer any potential buyers to me..... ;( Only kidding...

I almost hate replying here, but I hade the RFPro VIVO and it was the absolute worst vid card I have ever used. I could never get it to work right, and the VIVO functions never worked at all. ATI was useless for tech support (as you probably already know). The only way I could get the thing to function (after selling it) was to install it in a Win2k system (vanilla install) and disable the VIVO. The guy I sold it to hasn't complained, then again all he does is collect email and look at web porn... no need for 3d there.

Sorry I don't have any good news.

Do a complete uninstall of your current drivers and go to their site and get the most recent drivers for your particular OS. If that doesnt work try another set of drivers... maybe you just have a bad card too. Sorry.

Looks like you should disable "fast writes" and use AGP 2X via setting the BIOS. This seems to be a known problem. Last contact users who have the same motherboard as you in the previous post.
