I just bought a duron 700 and a ABIT KT7 RAID, and there is a little , what I guess is the thermal measuring thing, and its right in the middle of the socket and it is blocking the cpu from going all want to force it tthe way into the socket, What should I do??? I dont want to force it. Anyone with the same problem, what did you do? Thanks

I have three KT7's and all three of them had the probe sticking waaayyyy up. I simply, gently, pushed it down. Even if you do break it, I doubt it would damage the board in any way. Be gentle, yet firm, and it will go down enough for the CPU to fit on top. I did make sure not to push it too far down as I would rather the CPU be touching the probe and give a higher temp than being so far down it does not read properly.
Cheers

Majr, Do NOT push down on the probe, it will almost surely break it. Bend the probe over in either direction, the instruction manual shows it bent toward the bottom of the board. When you bend it, leave it a little high so that the CPU pushes it done the last 1/32nd of an inch or so. I know people who have rendered their probe useless by pushing it straight down. It's covered by warranty, but there is a $25.00 warranty charge from Abit and you will be without your board for about three weeks.
