HELP! Thermal grease or the tape provided?

Which should I use, I prefer to just use the tape, but if I cant get the speeds advertised, then I guess Ill go with grease.

Its an AMD 1800+ retail....

Thanks before hand....

grease is a better alternative than the pad. especially higher grade greases (the arctic silver line comes to mind)

what do you mean by "the advertised speed?"

Yeah, I guess I could of been more specific, but I was going to be late for work...

Advertised speeds as in 1.53 ghz for my 1800+ using their pad, since I saw that someone couldnt get their speeds that high because of the pad, but no matter, Im getting some grease tomorrow, and my system will be under way (building it myself, got my stuff from newegg.com today !!!)

Um, that is just the speed of the processor, no overclocking. You should be able to get that with grease or the pad. Grease is better imo, easier to clean off if you want to put a new HS/fan on later. (the pad actually melts onto the core, much harder to clean off)
