I am putting subs in my 1996 Toyota Camry LE and I was thinking I would run the power wire from the batter to the amplifier through the rubber gasket, except there is none! The only thing I see is the brake gasket and that thing is sealed......there is no place for the power wire to go from the battery to inside my car! Can somebody help Please!??!

Uh. Don't you have some accessory in the passenger compartment that needs power? Like a radio?

that will blow a fuse instalntly since a decent amp puls over 20 amps by itself, when a radio fuse is only about 20-25 amps and powers not only the radio, but other parts of the dash.

the power wires for the radio and stuff run through a wierd spot....there is like a small 1 inch diameter hole from the bottom side of the car where there is a bulge....really hard for me to explain.......then inside car, I see fat wire comming from the dash on left hand side......not from front.....from top??!

see if you can punch a whole in the firewall near the steering column... but yeah.. you're probably going to have to drill something.

I think EyeMWing was referring to the fact that there has got to be something else going through the firewall than the brake cylinder 🙂

There should be a main harness and I have yet to see one that you couldn't get a 4g-8g wire through....however I prefer to drill a proper hole, you just have to be careful you aren't drilling through wires or into something.

I did a nice job on my car....nothing for show, but I put in the fuse blocks, ground blocks, nice guaged wiring and rca's....I just took the whole interior out and the plastic panels/carpet and laid it all out nice and neat....it was alot easier than fighting with the interior.

I wasn't talking about using the same line - I was talking about using the hole. Then again, what do I know about wiring cars - my van has spoiled me by having nothing between the dash and engine - everything behind the dash is in the engine compartment.

what i did with my 4runner is ran it on the outside, around and up the wheel cutout, underneith a panel that's there, and then ran it through in the door lining and under the passenger seat into the main compartment, can only see it for about a cm, it's jenky but it works!

Stop being a sissy and drill a hole in that firewall!

I did it to my 92 camry (when I still had it 🙁 ) and no problems at all.

kool.........i figured out the wierdest place to run the wire and it worked! from batter to extreme right side underneath the hood, through the area between the mirror and door, through side rubber molding around top of door, down through side door into trunk through seats! nice......can only see a red wire from door lining to rear seat about 2-3 inches, but i am going to be getting a new car in a bit so its only temporary.......
