I've listened to John O'Neill several times (in venues where he's actually been allowed to speak) and I've come to the conclusion that he's legit. He and the other Swiftboat vets have nothing to gain and everything to lose. I'm convinced that they are just doing they're doing their patriotic duty by informing voters about the real John Kerry.

I never contribute to political campaigns, but I'm going to drop these guys a few bucks to help them get the word out.

Here's a link if you want to make a contribution:

The only contribution I'll give to any of these 5-something groups are a towel that I used to rub my armpit to get that onion smell.

Join Bush instead to denouce these groups.

LOL - thanks for the info! I'll get right on it.

Do you know if they accept canned goods? I have a perfectly good, sealed case of Shut the Hell Up that's going to waste.

Since the Swiftboat vets come from both political parties, how are there actions a "political attack"?

The thing that unites them is their belief that Kerry is unfit for command.

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth founder Roy Hoffman issued a statement Monday afternoon saying his organization will not curb its attacks.

-----------------------------------

Doesn't sound like they need any money or help either, but keep right on sending your family's money their way Rip, you're rich so they don't need it.

Mail that one to the Kerry campaign or his operatives. Lanny Davis or "Spittin" James Carville would be good choices.

Of course not when they are single handedly funded by you. Spend away.

Actually, they received funds from a lot of small donors.

O'Neill is going to donate his proceeds from the book to an organization that helps military families, so buy the book too!

Rip... are you pro-Bush or just anti-Kerry. President Bush said they should stop (a little late, but nonetheless), so why don't you just lay off.

Do you seriously think they are going to stop?

The Swift vets are from both parties. This isn't about politics.

I've got a couple cans of mixed vegetables (no pun intended); maybe if they get within throwing distance...

You must be paid per post/response, Rip

It'd be interesting if, say, William Rood, or one or more of the Band of Brothers sued them for libel.

There are groups that attack military records from both parties and both Kerry and Bush has denounced their advertisements. Are you blind? This is ALL about politics!!! The swiftboats aren't doing this just for kicks or for the sake of 'enlightening the public'. They're doing this so that the other candidate doesn't get elected.

I've asked him before and he claims not to be. It's hard to believe, considering what a strong advocate he is (inadvertantly or not) for the wisdom of the Democratic party.

I don't get the impression that the Swift vets are too concerned.

If you can face down an enemy during combat, how scary are a bunch of lawyers?

These guys are fighting on principle, and that's a powerful thing.

If the Dems weren't afraid of the Swift vets and there weren't any merit to their allegations, why are they taking such great pains to try to shut them down?
